If there are any problems, they're not blatant. I'll see if I can muster the time to do some session changes, since that seems to be one of the ultimate stress tests for the Mac client.
Thanks! xoxo Amarisen Gream |

Probablythe one reason I run window mode.
If I remember right, control+apple+ESC force quotes. If not control than option/alt.
I will upgrade in a few and post any information it get. xoxo Amarisen Gream |

Minmitelle wrote:So far, since I upgraded to 10.10 the launcher still works and the client will load, allow me to select a character and then load the game environment but after a few seconds the client throws an exception and then exits.
Logged a support ticket, I was advised that 10.10 is not officially supported and there is no confirmed date they can provide for when it will be supported.
Could we maybe get a little more info as a community. I'm sure someone reading this has had the same problem and found a work around...
Hit us up, and use us. No need to lose out on our EVE time for support on an OS that CCP has had the chance to test for four months.
And seeing as many people who are not having problems, maybe we can figure out what is different, and help you fix it.
Talk to you soon.
edit: p.s. And as busy as CCP is with patching EVE every 6 weeks, i'm sure a freebie from the community for supporting most powerful OS, would be very beneficial to them. xoxo Amarisen Gream |

Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000024 at address 0x7001c524.
Thank you! I don't know what those mean. Not a programer, but I am grateful for everyones help, and the information we can provide to CCP to see (I hope) a timely support for 10.10.
-Some tips I might make to people.
Make sure to repair your permissions via Disk Utility in the Application > Utility Folder. See if a computer restart does anything. (I know I had some system wide lag after the update and another restart has helped.)
I can't think of anything else that might help. Anyone else have tips/tricks?

Sometimes it works fine, but other times it hangs and either needs to be force-quitted or sometimes only a force restart (holding down the power button to power off the computer) will work.
I've also had the unhandled page fault error mentioned above once or twice too.
have you tried windowed mode. thats all i run in.

Don't you get stuck with both the menu bar and the title bar of the window? And what about the dock popping up? If there's a workaround / fix for those 2 points I'd be interested. (I'm deliberating the 10.10 update on my main / eve computer. My test system is a little too slow to test eve proper these days)
Nature of the beast. AS i was running multiple accounts for months. this was so much better than command tab.

Hugh Knight wrote:Hi Guys,
I see many people are still having issue regarding 10.10.
First thing. Yosemite is not supported by CCP. now that is out of the way.
poor performance is due to Yosemite using beta drivers for graphics this i can confirm on my 2014 mac, this is probably the same reason for crap sound too but i never had any issues with sound when i had it running.
If your mac is freezing up look up app nap fix for app in 10.8 + in a nut shell you need to exclude some parts of the eve client from going in to app nap.
to all you guys that say it is working fine on Yosemite, it is just a matter of time before it stops working, i had 10.10 running from the day it was released and it was about 4 weeks in when eve stopped running i have a dedicated mac to run eve and work from a different mac for my job so the only thing installed on it is eve so there is no conflict with apps.
If you can roll back to mavericks it is stable (this takes about 2 hours) i run over 6 clients at the same time and no issues, even getting the test server works fine on Mavericks.
If you want me to post the app nap email me or just search youtube some chappys did a nice vid on how to do it.
:D
If you show info on the EVE Apps (might need another step) there is a prevent App Nap option that you can check mark.

Ive heard Apple is close to coming out with 10.11. Yet Eve is not supported even on 10.10! Will we soon get to the point where eve is only supported on an OS that is no longer supported by Apple? 10.11 will be announced around June and released around September/October. This is how Apple has done it for a good number of years. CCP is more than likely not at fault here but is in fact at the mercy of Transgaming who develops Cider so I suspect the OS level support has more to do with that than CCP themselves. I just wish CCP would create a native OpenGL port for Mac OS instead of relying on third party wrappers. +1 There is this old joke The patient holds up his arm. "Doctor, it hurts whenever I do this." Doctor: "Then don't do that." CCP: "We are at the mercy of transgaming to make Eve work on the Mac." Then stop using transgaming and make Eve work on the Mac some other way.
For those like this you can look at the "wine" version. The forum shows up normally on the first page. I have used it a number of times. Just no CQ support

Dear CCP
I created this post sometime ago. Though I haven't had any issues I can think of, others have.
It is time do you (CCP) to decide is transgaming's CIDER best for EVE
Please take the time to work with other "wine/bottle" tools and their developers and find a new 3rd party to assist in supporting EVE on the all major OSs
xoxo
